Your Impact
Your Impact was my first foray into a radio news magazine. I conceived, recorded, produced, edited and hosted both recorded and live segments. I recruited two student volunteers and had doubled the amount of shows when we were on the air 2007-2008.
Your Impact featured news segments on sustainability issues, interviews with community environmental leaders, and suggestions for simple, everyday things listeners can do to decrease their carbon footprint. A learning experience that taught me all aspects of radio show elements, such as segment production, clock management, and promotion.
Recognition for Your Impact:
Greening the Airwaves: Andrew Bernier '07: His voice is just one reason Andrew created and hosted Your Impact, a show about sustainability that began airing in fall 2007 on WICB. The other reason is that, well, he’s passionate about his subject.
"Green Thumbs-Up" to the Your Impact Radio Show: At the December 7 Sustainable Tompkins holiday party, the Your Impact show was recognized as one of the region's "Signs of Sustainability" for 2007.
